Our thoughts and prayers are with anyone affected by the major incident this morning at Grenfell Tower in North Kensington.
Many of our patients of Barlby Surgery live within the tower, and we are ready to support in any way we can – we are open as usual.
An emergency number has been set up for anyone concerned for loved ones in the fire, please call Casualty Bureau 0800 0961 233.
For patients planning to access Barlby Surgery today, please note that there are disruptions to roads and public transport – at 7.30am the A40 is closed Westway and the Hammersmith & City and Circle lines are closed between Edgware Road and Hammersmith.
Contact numbers established to support the incident
The London Ambulance Service has reported that they have taken a number of patients to London hospitals and fatalities have been confirmed, indicating the serious nature of the incident. We extend our sympathy and support to colleague, patients and families.
The team here has been phoning practices in the area close to the site to check in with them, and practices in the area are open. Please note that staff in some practices have not been able to get in to work, and this may have an impact on services (although minimal). NHS England is also in touch with GP practices and hospitals in the area.
At 12.30 today, the situation is:
74 casualties have been reported with 20 critical. Six fatalities have been confirmed and this number is sadly expected to rise.

LCW is providing GP support, and CLCH has been asked to provide community nursing, and voluntary sector colleagues have offered to provide support at the respite centre.
